NTSC- CCIR 601 vs. Square Pixels

Hate to say it, but this sounds like a case of operator error. Your tapes should be consistent.

[Alexander] “My editor notified me that the “Pixel Aspect” in some shots are “NTSC- CCIR 601” and other shots are “Square”.”
I don’t think this is possible. All digital video except HD is non-square.

[Alexander] “We are currently using Offline RT for the edit-“
Not so sure that was a good idea in conterting to OLRT with video that was originally captured with advanced pulldown. Is this an approved workflow in the manual, or did your editor have success doing this in past projects?

Me? I’d just buy more drive space and capture it all as is.

[Alexander] “I could not capture Advanced Pulldown removal 24p Offline RT footage directly.”
Again, not sure that this is an approved worflow. The fact that you could not doi this on capture may be telling you something.

[Alexander] “I believe it is a FCP digitizing issue or Offline RT issue and not due to a camera problem.”
Your problem with inconsistencies on the original capture doesn’t sound right. I’d start with reviewing the source tapes and then work back into your current problem.
