I’ve released the November emitter library.

This library is a little different from others in the past, in that all of the emitters are “texture” emitters — they are intended to be used as backgrounds, or anywhere you need a nice “texture”. Hard to explain, but some of these are really nice I think. Thanks to Paul Hansen for helping inspire me on this, and to force me to learn how to make nice soft-edged particle shape images using Paintshop Pro (I was sick of getting white or black halos around the particles).

The nice thing about these emitters is that you can take any “texture” image, soften the edges, swap it into the emitter and have a brand new effect. Some more ideas I had but didn’t try out: use an image of a hand or face; wrinkled paper; dirty snow; sand; dirt; etc.

Hope you like them, and if you were looking for more smoke, sparkles, or explosions, sorry. =)

    Allen,

Thank you, I think they are cool! 🙂

Could you explain how you ended up doing the soft edges?

    Thank you,
    Bill
