Novacut. Anyone else seen/heard about this

I have no doubt that this project was started way before the FCPX launch, but from reading the info on the kickstart it seems like a lot of the kickstart campaign is sort of based around negative reactions to FCPX

“We’ll ask you what you need, and we’ll listen when you tell us”Problem I see is it’s trying to be touted as a Modern Professional Editor, but only supports HDSLR cameras, and really only Canon HDSLR cameras.
I think there’s some really good foundational concepts here, but it just seems really limited in it’s scope.

I don’t think the bandwidth is there to use it for any project that’s not shot in some variant of H.264/XDCam EX.

It all eventually comes down to costs. If someone shooting Canon DLSR’s can find a way to save
money and deliver an acceptable product then it might be useful to some. Assuming it works when
it appears.bigpine
