  • Noticeable vertical frame jump when editing multicam footage.

    Hi All,

I am editing a multicam sequence that consists of 1 line cut and 5 ISO cameras. All footage is synched via TimeCode. Files are coming from a studio setup and I am assuming that TC is jammed into all cameras. Not certain but I feel confident that the TC is same across all cameras and Line Cut.

Here is my problem. When I cut between line cut and ISO of same shot, the frame shift up by a few pixels. It is enough to be perceptible by a casual viewer.

There is no gap in the time code so its not a jump cut. And when switching between the line cut and an ISO of a locked off camera, the entire frame jumps, not just the subject within.

The footage is interlaced so I am speculating that it is a field issue. But if this is the case how do I resolve? And if not, any other ideas as to cause? Right now my solution is to extend all ISO so that each shot is continuous and without any edits in the middle.

    Thanks
