  • nothing scales in animation?

This is strange, I know it must be something simple but I’m doing some basic animating. I use the autokeyframe and manual key frame and I can manage to move or rotate things fine, but nothing seems to scale in animation? I’m puzzled, I use the same method as I do for rotate/move but scale doesnt seem to want to work. The object I am using (trying to anyway) is within a null object and consists of several objects.

    Any ideas? Cheers in advance.

You have to switch to the object tool in order to animate scale … or you can animate the scale parameter the object’s coordinates tab (attributes manager).

thanks! although I don’t understand why you have to switch to this mode for scaling? Why is this so?

Basically, the model tool scales the actual geometry, but the object tool scales the object axis. Cinema only recognizes the scaling of the axis for animation (unless you are recording point-level animation). I realize that’s not a very satisfactory answer, but it’s the best I can do. 🙂
