I am looking for a way to quickly add notes to clips in the timeline.

I am trying to add simple storyboard functionality. Therefor I want to be able to quickly add notes to each clip in the timeline.

I spent alot of time searching, but I guess there is nothing available natively. does anyone have an idea how I could get closer to such functionality with a fast workaround?

    Hey Marc,

this type of thing is really the purview of markers.

You can either add markers to the sequence, or to the clip in the sequence.

Sequence markers don’t ripple with the edit (at least they didn’t used to b4 CS6) changes.

    Here’s more info from adobe:

    Thank you Alex,
the Markers did not really work for me in this case, since I wanted the notes to be visible at all time.

While trying to find a solution I tested titles. While I didn’t have the chance to test it extensively it seems like this will do for now.
I made a template with a pretty small font for a still title and no background. I copied it over each item in the timeline and switch the track with the titles on and off when needed. It’s also very fast to edit them just by double clicking on the title item.

Thank you for the help : )

well….in that case you could make color mattes in the project panel and just rename them as your note.

that way even if the thumbnail wasn’t viewable…. you’d still see the “name/note” in the seq….
