    Joseph,

Okay, we have an idea what you don’t want your video to look like. What precisely do you want to accomplish?

Your second version appears to have been shot on the planet Orange Juice, was that intentional?

yes haha, but if you look closely the second one is much higher quality, and the first one, when there is movement, it looks like a double image… so i want it to look more like the second one, of course not on planet orange juice 😉

It’s very tough to see bad stuff on YouTube because we all kind of expect bad all the time. However, you do have an interlace issue on the first video. Don’t know at which stage that was added however, as it could be introduced with improper timeline settings, improper export settings, etc., etc., etc.

If you deinterlace before sending to YouTube it might help. Try a test…

ok, well I’m basically importing with apple intermediate codec, and then exporting with mp4 but, on the final cut timeline, it has no interlace at all, but i’ll upload some files and let you take a look. in hq

It’s very possible it’s a YouTube issue. I’d suggest you give them a deinterlaced h.264 file exported at a bitrate of 3000 to 5000.

well, i have no idea what interlace has to do with it .. but basically.. i deinterlaced while editing not after… so that worked. and thanks! 🙂

I suspect their compression engine was having a bad time with your already compressed material.

oh, no.. i mean like it doesn’t have to do with youtube.. it’s the fact that it is ghosting playback on my computer.. and that was fixed with the de-interlace
