  • Not seeing 3d camera icon and FOV

Posted by Eric Chard on February 7, 2013 at 8:20 pm

Working with an AE scene exported from LightWave 11.5.

There’s a 3D camera in the composition, but I can’t see the camera icon or FOV indicate in the comp window, when looking thru Custom view 1 (or 2 or 3).

Is there a toggle somewhere for Camera icons? “Show Layer Controls” is not it in this case.

    Thanks.

    Eric

By FOV do you mean Camera Wireframes?

What are you View Options settings? (Screenshot of that dialog box is probably the easiest way to answer.)

    Yes. “FOV”= field of view.

False alarm/pilot error/idiot at the controls:

Since this was a imported scene, the camera, at 70 meters in the 3d app, was ‘wayyyyyyyyyyy offscreen in the orthogonal view.

Kind of a pain: can I just parent EVERYthing to a null, scale it, and get it all into the (nominal) orthographic view?

(I hate 3D in AE: its 2D origins really show thru.)
