  • not responding to 3D Camera/constant rasterization question

I’m building a city-like scene on a grid, and my building – made up of cubes stacked on top of eachother – only seems to respond to the camera’s movement, but not it’s rotation.

also, i can’t get it to intersect/sit on the floor plane. it appears to be in front of it all the time.

me thinks i dont understand the constant rasterization button and the way 3D works with layer order, but only occasionally do i have this problem.

    what do i do?

If you have any effects applied to any composition that has its transformations collapsed it will break the 3D render order. Remove all effects applied to compositions with their transformations collapsed. Also make sure you have no 2D layers inside the collapsed compositions, even adjustment layers.

I’m not sure if this will solve the camera rotation issue (that sounds odd) but it should solve the intersecting issue.

After some searching I realized this can be a common problem and there’s not always one solution. I had forgotten about how having effects on will break things, but I actually found things worked the way they should when I took my position expression off the camera, which I suppose makes sense, in that maybe expressions are not interpreted the same in all areas as keyframing.
