  • “Not Rendered” Message on Export to mpeg-2

For some reason I can’t export to MPEG-2 for a DVD. I get a message saying the sequence is not rendered. But as far as I can tell it is rendered. I’ve tried every which way to render it, including trashing all my render files and re-rerendering. when i load the mpeg-2 profile in quick time conversion, i can see red bars along the top of the sequence (leading me to believe it’s and audio issue somewhere) — and then i get the “not rendered” message. but when I close the dialogue box and exit the export, i see no red bars and it doesn’t matter how many times i hit command-R and Option-R (or both together) or go to the file menus to achieve same, it won’t render anymore. I’ve checked sequence settings and system settings and user prefs. Any suggestions? Please help! Thanks.

Oh yeah, by the way, it exports fine to several other formats, but I need DVD quality video at the moment…..

Make sure all the render options are checked in all menus. Make sure you have no in and out points. Select all in timeline. Press cmd+r. Press cmd+option+r (audio mixdown).

You shouldn’t see any red lines.

But it should export even if it’s not rendered. It would just render it for you. Might want to check QT compatibility and that sort of thing.
