This boggles my mind: I’ve got a credit roll rendered from AE, 1080p 23.98 10bit Uncompressed. I need to remove a name, and for time’s sake I was going to just mask it off from the final render and pull everything else up (as opposed to an hour long re-render of original file)

In QT player/FCP in every frame the credits move. Bringing this file into a new project in AE, self-creating a timeline from it, i’m getting frozen frames: it freezes every 5th frame…. like a pulldown or something? The result are these jumps in the smooth credit roll when you render.

I’ve tried forcing a 24 fps interpretation of the file… 23.98, 23.976…. changing the composistion frame rate… everything. help?

I fixed it but would still like an explantion.

Cinema Tools – open the file – conform to 24.0 fps and save. AE now reads every frame correctly, and I can render it out 23.976. What is causing AE not to read 23.98 fps correctly? Version 6.5
