    Hello,

is there a way to block users from manipulating the beginning of DVD’s so that they are permitted to fast forward or skip ahead? (like they do on some discs so they are “forced” to watch the FBI warnings)
Will DVD studio pro allow it?

    Thanks

    Mark

you do this with the User Operation tab, checking anything disables that remote function.

Use sparingly though- any more than 10 seconds of this and you risk folks ejecting your disc and using it as a shiny coaster.

You see more and more titles with this. Some at least lets you hit title to get out. 10 seconds seems like an eternity when watching something you do not want to watch. My thought is a person that copies movies illegally is not going to change their mind just because they are forced to watch a FBI warning for 10 seconds.

A little late to the thread… There are a few studios (including BBC America) that have a whole philosophy against using ANY UPS whatsoever – all operations are allowed, everything is skippable. Any prohibition is sure to evoke a negative reaction on the part of the disc owner.
