    Hi Andreas,
    That sounds incredible.
The so much demanded “Rendering in the background” comes true?

Nice that its in a script form. This has been possible with a terminal command. In fact any app will work this way. I’ve been working with two or three instances of Roxio’s Toast with this to burn multiple discs or different discs at the same time to more than one burner. Just change this simple command with the app in place:

It’s a Power PC application. Does that matter?

    hmmm….. interesting.

So you have a huge timeline that needs rendering…. you set the 1st instance of FCP to render the front, set the 2nd instance to render the back end? And then “reconnect media” to the render files to get it all back together?

we did something like this when we were working in 1080 for a feature film on G5’s…. three FCP stations rendering and reconnecting the render files.

    No, it doesn’t matter.
It’s just a simplified call of a Unix command which works on any Mac.

    Thx Andreas

Very cool… Just had a second computer hooked up to the other one through Ethernet for doing such renderering purposes… Now this is even handier…

Really great… saves a lot of time when you have massive rendering to do

    ______

    Hi Aaron,

What would be the best way to “reconnect media” to put that all together ?

    Thanks !

Is there anything specific you have to do to make this work? Seems almost too good to be true.

Is it a plug in that you put in your plugins folder?

Or it runs as a separate application?
