Not importing to a network drive
It seems as though my Avid MC 2021.6.0 (running on Mac OS Big Sur version 11.4) isn’t recognizing a network drive as available for importing media. It also doesn’t allow me to link to media that I manually dragged to that drive (in the proper folder structure). I don’t have the project sharing hardware and only want to edit as a single user while having the Avid read and write media to a shared drive (for the large amount of drive space only). Any help?

this isn’t a supported workflow for media composer. Network shares can be used for source media and linked media, but not native media…officially.
There is a console command “alldrives” that will enable the usage of some unsupported storage types for native media. open the console with CMD+6, enter “alldrives” without the quotes, and hit enter. You may need to restart composer. Give it a shot and see what happens. Note that the alldrives command may not be persistant with a user profile change in avid or a reboot of your computer.
