    Hi,

Do I need Premiere Pro? I have AE 6.5pro

I want to take some video footage of me, I guess with a bluescreen, and I want to take that footage, import it into AE and rotoscope it, trace it, animate it and apply effects to the resulting mask. Just like motion capture for 3D. Can I do the ‘bluescreen’ thing with only AE software instead of an actual bluescreen?

What is the best type of video camera to use?

    Any other ideas? 🙂

I haven’t heard of AE being able to capture. But there are many capture tools out there. VirtualDub is one of them, iirc.

Best way is with a true bluescreen background….. Don’t try it with AE on a textured background. It will kill you!

Best type? One which is mounted to a tripod. I have the XL-1, works great for me especially with different light setups…
