    Folks,

    Quick question.

What advantage would I get shooting my video shoots with DVCAM tape vs mini DV tapes? Is it anything really decernable? I currently use Panasonic AY-DVM83/63PQ professional grade tapes. Does anyone have a tape they prefer?

Sorry I know its not a Vegas question, but know there are several event videographers here.

    Thanks
    Rick

Lower risk of dropout. No image quality difference whatsoever. It’s digital.

I use (and have used for the past 5+ years) the same tape you mention above as well as the 83 minute ones from Panny. I can’t remember the last time I had a dropout with them- so I have never had a reason to move to DVCAM tape. If it is working for you, don’t mess it up 🙂
