    That’s because the image is a 2D object and the text 3D. 3D text exists in it’s own space. For them to obstruct each other, they BOTH have to be EITHER OR, not mixed. And the only thing that can currently be 3D is TEXT (i.e. anything that’s a FONT).

    Robin,

    I took the text back to 2D and everything snapped into place as expected. Would be nice if 3D text would also do this, though. Maybe in the next release??

    The alternative of course being, that you do it the other way around. 😉 Change the graphic into a 3D object. Make an SVG version of it, go to glyphter.com (which actually already has a cloud like that in its standard glyphs) and make a font out of it…
