Non Technical Color Grading setup
Hi All…
As we get new footage into our library, I’d like to add a step of doing some base beauty work on it which will include punching up the color.
I’m not looking for broadcast legal at this stage. But just general beautification.
My approach here would be equivalent to the “boombox” approach of listening to your audio thru the common speakers of a boombox to see if anything annoying is apparent to you.
Operator at that workstation is running a Mac OSX with a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 2048 MB.
I’ve got an spare general low end HDTV I can connect via HDMI to one output of the card.
My thought is to do Lumetri looks in PPro and apply in logical batches via Media Encoder.
Procedure wise, what do we need to do the setup of the monitor for it to be looking at “TV Color” (Rec 709?) when attached to a computer gfx card?
Does this happen as an adjustment layer in a sequence in PPro, or are we really looking at making control panel settings adjustment at the OS level?
Again….I’m looking for general…not legal.
As long as we’re in the ball park and not clipping data….finesse will be applied at the other end of the pipeline…
discussion is appreciated…
thanks!
