I wrote about this a few weeks back. When I try to capture footage FCP switches to “drop-frame” even though I’ve set everything to “non-drop” and the tape, from a Beta-SP is definitely “non-drop”. I’m using a Datavideo DAC15 DV/Analog converter through firewire to get my footage. The converter is being fed component, (YUV). I double checked the device control settings to be sure they’re at non-drop, LTC timecode and then re-attempted capture. After the tape rolled for about six seconds the timecode automatically switched from non-drop to drop. Funny thing is, this was working fine for the last several months, no system changes or additions and then…poof. I took the advice given from the Cow back then to trash preferences and I reinstalled FCP. No change. Any ideas?
