I’m trying to capture to FCP using a VHS deck. No time code, no device control. I know I need to tell FCP that I’m capturing from a non-controlable device but I can’t seem to make that happen.

In my A/V Settings under “Device Control Presets” there is an option for “Non-Controlable Device” but the option can’t be selected. The text is written in italic and there is a lock icon next to it.

Am I looking in the correct location for the “non-controllable device” setting or am I lookin’ for love in all the wrong places?

Ahh Haa! Got it. “Audio/Video” Setting Preference is correct…but you change the setting in the “Summary” tab…not the “Device Control” tab
