non-cheesy image shrink
hi,
I’m trying to figure out how to make shrinking down an image with a move look less cheesy.
in other words, the image starts out full screen and goes to the corner of the screen, it looks cheesy now. i know i need to put in some
kind of curve on the move but can’t figure out a fast, and easy way to do that.

Open the manual, look up Bezier and Motion Path. Learn how to adjust and set curved motion paths for the center keyframes. Learn how to set eases for them and how how to set smooths for your scaling operations. Also, visit an After Effects forum and search (don’t ask) for “exponential scale.”
Warning (this isn’t in the manuals but everything else is):
FCP’s Bezier handles are notoriously oversensitive and way over-engineered. Far more difficult to use than similar tools in any other application on the planet. Dumb implementation of a standard interface feature.bogiesan

I agree with the above – and I’d also like to recommend a great $10 plug-in from http://www.digital-heaven.co.uk called DX Box – that makes push-backs and P-in-P work a breeze.
