    I checked all the settings

The camera power dail is on A, 60i , when i turn power dail to TV the shutter is 8
all other settings when shooting – power dail A -aspect 4:3. , white balance A , gain A.

Your problem with picture noise is because you set the picture gain dial to “A” which is automatic. Keep the gain at zero and dial it up when you see fit and don’t leave it up to the camera to decide.

Don is right, The XL-2 shows grain a lot more than other models of the camera. Shoot in Manual mode, turn the dial to “M” and like Don said, keep your gain at ‘0’ or below (if it’s bright enough outside)
