All I get from my broadcast monitor is noise. I can’t see my desktop at all. What can i do?

It’s a deck link 2, i have tried several differnt drivers as well. Everything is conected right. I have also tried different PCI slots. Evrything installed fine – just no output.

My monitor is a pvm 14L4 with sdi inputs

    Mac osx 10.3.9

    Thanks

I think I can answer my own question

My monitor doesn’t have sdi in, so I either need a sdi card for my monitor or a digital>analogue converter or buy the decklink pro card with analogue monitoring.

    Am i right?

Which will be my cheapest option, and will i notice any drop in quality on my monitor from sdi compared to analogue?

    Thanks

I am sure you have tried this, but the SDI input is OPTION 1, not input A or B on the monitor – have you switched to Option 1 input ? When you accidentally put a SDI video signal into input A or B on an analog monitor, you get “snow” or noise. When you plug nothing into a monitor, it looks black. So it makes me think you are plugged into the wrong input, or have the wrong input selected.
