    Can someone help me please.

System: MacPro, OSX 10.4.1, FCP6, BM Intensity Pro with V1.6 drivers, Z1 component output. (BM V1.6 drivers installed from BM web site which only refers to Intensity drivers, not Intensity Pro, although accessed via the Intensity Pro selection button. The V1.4 drivers that were included with the board had not been installed.)

Problem: No video input in either SD or HD modes using component input to card. I do not have an HDMI source so cannot say whether HDMI input would be seen. Video input is also absent in the BM applications.

The component output from Z1 tests OK as does that from the Intensity Pro.

I am trying to capture to ProRes 442.

Any help will be most welcome, thanks in advance,

    Geoff

I have the same problem with my intensity pro. The HDMI out works fine and displays on my HDMI monitor from Final Cut Pro 2.

However, I am trying to input component video from a set top box into the intensity pro and I get nothing in either blackmagic media express, On-Air or Final Cut Pro 2.

When I try to start up On-Air I get the following message

Blackmagic On-Air Cannot Run — The decklink model you have does not support live mixing.

I have the latest 1.6 drivers and in the install, it updated the firmware of the intensity card and rebooted.

Anyone else with intensity setup problems?

Ah! The sweet smell of success wafted finaly across the studio floor when I discoved the BM Intensity Icon in the Applications/System Preference folder (under Other)found on the MacHD drive. This provided the software input selection switch that I had expected to see in one of the Intensity apps. Being a newcomer to MAC, this was a little different to what I was used to on the PC; perhaps BM should provide a pointer to the software setup in their instruction,or have I missed something?

Now trying to get ProRes capture….

    Good luck, geoff

Blackmagic pointed me at the system preference panel which solved part of my problem. The Media Express application now works (once I resolved its internal preferences correctly). However, On-Air still tells me I do not have a Decklink card that can do live editing. This still needs to be resolved.

The Intensity manual, while it looks great and is laid out well, is like driving instructions where key instructions have been left out. There is no mention of the system preference panel or what to do with it either in the manual or in the support knowledgebase. There is similarly no mention of the Media Express program or how to configure it that I can find.

Intensity seems like a very good product that is being crippled by lack of attention to supporting elements.
