So, I have downloaded a trial of Media Composer 6 to give it a try since AVID is praisinig it so highly.
First I followed the steps of crating a Project importing media and creating a Sequence.
So where is the timeline and the monitors??
Double clicking any of the clips or sequences seems not work. What is the next step?

    Thanks

Are you using two monitors or one?

I got that bug on one of the systems I installed MC6 on. I think it might be the geforce 7300 GT, the other system where it works fine is a Radeon HD 4870. Trashed all the prefs I could find, no better, uninstalled, and reinstalled MC6, no fix. Ended up just mirroring my two displays so I could run the tests I need to run, luckily I don’t need to actually edit with it.

Yes it is a Dual Monitor setup.

Also it does have a geforce 7300 GT. 🙁

There’s a bug that was missed. With dual-monitor Mac set-ups, put your menu bar on the left monitor (Apple System Preferences/Displays/Arrangement). Avid has promised to fix this in a patch that will likely come soon.

I thought Avid was trying to one-up FCP X…

Apple gets rid of tracks…Avid gets rid of,the whole damn timeline !

Forgot they got it up running thanks for the tips.
But what we would like to know how to get the new window layout… the that looks similare to FCP in the dark gray color scheme.
Right now ist the normal MC 5 floating madness window layout.

One little work around for me is temporarily change the bar under preferences to the left monitor as mentioned, and after I get the time line to show, move the bar back to the right monitor and move the timeline to the right monitor, at least the timeline then seems to not disappear. A little inconvenience, but it seems to be okay at the moment.
