  No sound on import with 5.1 quicktime from VG30

  I have a problem where footage from a Sony VG30 has sound recorded in 5.1 (I have no idea why). Anyway, when I import into FCP there’s no sound. The inspector shows the audio channels but no sound waves. Any ideas? I’ve had similar problems with C100 footage, where the audio won’t work in the multi cam editor but will after a re-import. I’ve tried importing several ways with no luck.
