No Sound in Premiere Pro
I have read several postings where Premiere Pro did not recognized the audio component of a mpg file. I am having the same problem. My camcorder saves in mpg, and until now I’ve never had a problem with the audio playback. I’ve use several inferior editing software programs that played back the audio, but for some reason Premiere Pro(one of the best apps)can’t?? I don’t see no reason to use it if I have to reinstall the OS or app. as suggested in some of the other posts. I hate to have to convert the files, but is that the only possible solution? Please help. Tim

Do you see a waveform in the source viewer or timeline?

There is no waveform in either the source file viewer or in the timeline. I took the videos and trimmed them in another application that played the audio. Then I imported them into Premiere Pro so I could set markers for Encore. When I exported it into Encore and burned my dvd, there was no audio. Also, thanks for the suggestion concerning my color correction. I will try it and see if it makes a difference with my two video files.

What format are we talking about…specifically.
MPEG files vary widely and the way the audio is structured varies widely as well.
