No Sound in FCP
I have been using FCP for over three years and I have never had this problem. I have imported video and I can’t hear the sound that came with it. I see the levels moving but I can’t hear it through the speaker. Any suggestions I have tried restarting the program and my computer, and preferences, no luck.

If you want to hear the audio from the computer make sure View>External Video is set to Off and that Video Playback is set to None and Audio Playback is set to default. (This all depends on exactly what version of FCP you’re using.)

This also happens if you try to import mpeg1 video directly. You need to demux it first. Since you didn’t post any specifics, we’re guessing here.
