    I captured about a hour of clips lastnight, in 15 minute segments , captured in Permiere Pro, when I layed them on the time line, I had no sound coming from the audio track.

    I played the clip in Media Player, and the audio is part of the file, as I hear it fine in Media Player… I checked my project settings, changed audio from my DV Hardware back to audio hardware, no luck, changed back to DV hardware…. no luck….

    I can’t seem to figure this one out…. PLEASE HELP!

    You probably did not capture from a DV camera with DV AVI type2 codec. PP does not like DivX or Xvid codecs or other esoteric formats. Same as you probably don’t like to eat spiders or rats, but prefer a good rib eye steak or sirloin.

    I captured from a Sony PD170. This is my first time encountering this issue, normally I capture from a DSR-25 DVCam Deck, but I sold that, and figured I’d just capture from the camera…..

    So what is my solution? I know the audio is embedded in the file, as the captured clip plays fine in media player….. woudl converting the file to some avi format with a different audio codec work? then how can I not lose what I’ve already cut on the timeline…???

    Check your Playback Settings and even if they appear correct, reset them;
    External Device=DV 29.97i (720×480)
    and then choose either Desktop audio or External Device Audio.
