No shadows under text

Can you post a scene file or screen cap? Hard to say, otherwise. Presumably your text has depth (extruded)? What kind of shadows are you using?

yes sorry here you go. You can see there is a floor due to the placement of the sphere. There is a light also.

I can see where the floor ought to be, but it doesn’t actually look like the floor is rendering. Do you have its render visibility turned off?
