I have a problem. I’m trying to render a fairly compex scene, and want to composit everything in AE afterwards. In other words I’m working with multipass-renders.

I have a multipass called “Shadow” and that renders out the shadows (as promised). But the problem is that the original picture, the background, already have the shadow applied. So when I render out the multipass-shadow, there is no use for it, since I already got it in my picture. But I need the background picture to get rendered out without the shadows, so I can apply it later and adjust it. Is there any way to do this?

In the multipass settings you want Diffuse turned on, that will give you the image without shadows and you either don’t need or can turn off for compositing the RGBA image layer (unless I’m missing something)
