No playback on trial cs5.5
I am a long time user of FCP and have recently downloaded fcpx but am now looking to move over to Premiere and therefore downloaded the trial version of premiere 5.5. I installed fcpx and premiere on a clean osx 10.6.7 partition. My machine is a Mac Pro 3,1 with 6gig ram, 2TB scratch disc, ATi 4870 video.
When I import raw mts files from my NXCAM NX5E they are imported fine and look superb quality. However they won’t playback, or more specifically they only playback upto 1 second in time and then stop. Sometimes only 2 or 3 frames will play then stop. So I then tried some transcoded footage from my scratch disc created by FCP7, prores 422. Same playback problem occurs.
This is not what I was hoping for when looking at alternatives for the future to my FCP system!
Any advice from the gurus on this board!!
