I’m new to this progrm. I’m sure I pushed something to make the video playback screen go black. Then, In trying to fix the problem, I’ve made the trim screen go green! Help please!! Thanks!

Thanks for the screenshot. Clearer now.

I can see you have Vegas Pro 9, and that your clips are .MOV files.

With Vegas Pro 9 and AVCHD MOV files, there were some well-known memory issues. This might be the reason. You might go to the Preferences dialog box, and set the Preview RAM to 0, in order to have as much RAM as possible available for the program. It’s not a 100% sure method, but it sometimes help…

Do you have the green and black screens at the beginning when you start Vegas? or do you have them only a while after starting Vegas?

Sometimes, I have had red (not green, not black: red) frames with AVCHD/MOV clips, and I believe it was due to memory saturation.

You might try to open your project with Vegas Pro 10 (eval version) and see if you still have the same issue.

    No other ideas so far,
    Frédéric

Thank you for your suggestion, but I don’t even know how to do that. Where is the Playback dialogue box?

But to answer your question, I see a picture when I start playback in the beginning and then it goes out.

    Thank you so much!!!

    Hi,

If you don’t even know this, you should definitely have a first overview of Vegas. Even if we fix this issue, you will be faced to many others afterwards.

Go to the Help Menu, and choose Interactive Tutorials (are similar English wording – I am using a French version of Vegas). There you will have interactive exercises to discover Vegas.

    Hope this helps,
    Frédéric
