No picture on export
Posted by Dave Gray on July 16, 2008 at 12:52 amI have used premiere pro 2.0 for some time and never had any problems.Recently i had to replace my motherboard, and since then my premiere does everything else fine except when exporting to camera there is sound but no picture.
I have another pc linked to my main one,and it now does the same.I can export using windows movie maker, and can export using my old premiere 6.Dave Gray replied 17 years, 11 months ago 2 Members · 8 Replies -

July 16, 2008 at 10:48 amWhere the sound is played (PC speakers or external DV device) is a choice in Playback Settings.

July 16, 2008 at 11:30 amDont really understand where you mean?Do the speakers actually have any control over picture?I dont understand if it plays back fine using other programmes and with premiere6 why premiere 2.0 only plays sound to the camera.I have also tried it with my other dv camera and the same thing happens?

July 17, 2008 at 10:21 amSound can only go to one of the two…they are not in sync. To export your movie to tape you need to choose External Device Audio and NOT Desktop Audio.
PLayback Settings are available from the Output button on the lower right corner of the Program Window. -

July 17, 2008 at 1:35 pmGo back to Playback Settings and reset both “External Device” settings to DV 29.97i (720 x 480) even though they currently show this. Experiment with turning the camera on before launching Premiere and after.

July 18, 2008 at 10:39 amSome cameras have a setting in the menu, like DV-In. Can you just play the timeline and see the video in the camera’s LCD?

July 20, 2008 at 5:34 pmThanks for all your help, but as the deadline for my project looms i have had to uninstall premiere, and re-install it.It seemed the only way as i wasnt getting anywhere. If there is a fix nobody seems to know it.I guess the re-install may eventually go the same way,but it looks the only option.
