no output
Posted by Richard Milner on January 25, 2014 at 3:39 amI am trying to edit a file in my Vegas 10 and for some reason I can’t hear the sound. I got sound when I play a youtube video. It works in Vegas as I see the volume in the master section of the DAW but no output. It works with other files but not this one. Any help will be good!

January 25, 2014 at 7:12 pmNo it is working like it should. I have checked all the obvious things to making the sound not work. I can load another video and it works correctly or I can load the video that isn’t producing a sound in another editor or just play it in a player and it works correctly.

January 26, 2014 at 11:47 amSo you’re saying that the audio track shows up… you can see the wave form… when you press play you see he volume registered on the Master Volume fader, but you hear no sound? How about the volume meter on the track? is that registering? That is really strange.
Is the audio multi-channel and it’s playing channels 3 & 4 and your output it only set to play 1 & 2 (stereo) through your speakers? That’s the only thing I could think of (i.e., stereo vs 5.1 surround routing). Check Options | Preferences | Audio Device and make sure all of your outputs are assigned to your physical speakers.

Yea, I thought it might have something to do with the device configuration. Glad you figured it out.
