Yikes…i’ve been out of the loop for almost two years (hi, y’all!), but getting back in the swing. I discovered tonight that i can’t just drag and drop my iTunes music (purchased) into the timeline anymore. Well, to be clear, it seems to just be the m4p files. I tried a few free converters, and none will work since it’s copyrighted music.

    Are there any workarounds???

    I found my workaround:

I went back to my older computer that was running an older version of iTunes…one that would still allow me to burn a CD! I burned the CD, which created aiff files going to the CD, then imported back from the CD and voila! I could use those aiff files easily in Premiere! Whew…

The latest iTunes update breaks a lot of things…seems to be Apple’s MO lately. Used to be able to link iTunes songs in Spotify but that got broken. Apple trying to protect Apple. Not looking out for you.

Using copyrighted music without permission is bad juju. I’d say iTunes lack of functionality in this department reflects that. There are many inexpensive quality stock music options.
