recently got a new Logitech 350 USB headset, but it’s caused the sound to stop working in all my existing premiere files (and new ones). the waveforms are still there, and if i bring up the audio mixer, i see the waveforms moving, but i hear nothing. otherwise, sound works normally on my pc, through the new headphones. except… in a music tracking program that i use, the audio also stopped working when i plugged in the new headset, and i had to go into the settings and tell the program to send the sound to my new headset instead of what it was set to before. but in premiere, i can’t find any setting like that to fix the problem.

also, i’m not sure if this might be related. i noticed that when i recorded something in Fraps with the new headset — instead of recording the audio from the program i was in as it is supposed to, it recorded my mic, and you could hear me typing and whatnot.. instead of hearing the sounds of the program i was in.

Check the settings under Preferences, and check to see if you sound card has a output to your headset.
