Newby to Serpentine 3D effect (loving it).

    I am running Zax’s 3D Serpentine 2.0 under AE CS4 9.0.3.8

My problem just appeared: I no longer have the option to choose the Extrude Path for my Serpentine effect (the one I was using is locked in) and I no longer can change/select a Texture Map either, although I was recently using one. What has changed since this occurred / around the same time?
    A couple things:

    I updated AE CS4 9.0 to 9.0.3.8
    I registered ZAX’s Serpentine’s permanent code.
I added a ZAX Invigorator 4.5 effect to another layer, using Comp Camera.
I added a light and a script that makes it volumetric.

The strange thing is that it must be something inside this comp. because I start a new comp and add a camera and solid (to provide a motion path) and then I add a solid with a Serpent effect and all is fine. But the comp which I was working on is no longer allowing me to choose a Texture Map to be tiled onto the serpent nor is it allowing me to choose the Extruded Path the serpent must follow…

    ?
Any help much appreciated, as I am on a deadline… 🙂

OK, so I started to delet layer by layer and found a Text layer conflicting and killing those two settings.
The text layer is not 3D, strangely enough, but if I delete it, those options in the Serpentine effect are back and usable.

    Anybody know why this happens?

    Hi Alan,

Thanks for the update. I haven’t ran into an issue before where the text layer would conflict with the Serpentine layer.

We’ll keep an eye on this. Thanks for all the information.

    Best,
    Edward
