No Light from Light Layer (HELP!)
There is NO light coming from my light layer. I don’t don’t know what it is. My objects are on a 3D plane. I’ve got a camera set up and everything but still no light from my light source. I’ve changed the light setting in every way I can and still nothing.
I’ve made sure that my light is facing my object and isn’t behind it. I’ve played around with the settings. I’ve done everything I can but there’s still no damn light coming from the light source.
I’ve searched all over the web and I haven’t found an answer. It’s becoming an issue because I’m making a wedding video which is due soon.
I’m currently working on a Macbook Pro 2.33 GHZ with 4 Gigs of SSDR Ram.

Make sure that whatever layer it’s pointing at is accepting light, and if you want it to cast a shadow, then you need to set that up in the material object of that layer. Check all of your settings within that layer, and make sure your light intensity is @ 100% then adjust accordingly and you should be good.

You may have the Draft 3D composition switch enabled. If it is then make sure that you turn that off. You can find information on this in the help.
If that’s not the issue then we may need to see a screenshot of your timeline with the light options and one 3D layer’s material options revealed (double tap ‘aa’ to reveal these properties).

Thank you so much for your quick response. I was wondering what does the Draft 3D button do? I was taught that it gives the composition an option to work in 3D. Again thank you.

As I understand it, the 3D draft option is just that. A rough draft (lower quality) preview of your 3D space. By not rendering lights, it allows you to work faster once you have a complex 3D scene setup.
AE is inherently a 3D space. All you need to take advantage of it is a layer with the 3D switch on.
