  • No FCP Audio Capture with Black Magic Intensity Card

    Mac Pro
    2 x 2.66 Ghz 6-Core Intel Xeon
    6 GB 1333 Mhz DDr3
    Mac osx 10.6.8
    Black Magic Intensity (new drivers)

Thanks in advance. Having trouble capturing with black magic intensity (canon xha1 connected via component and rca audio)

I can capture video and audio with the “blackmagic express” software, but in fcp it only captures the video. Yes I have selected “audio” checkbox in “capture now.” The easy setup is dvc pro hd 1080i 59.94 for capture preset and sequence settings.

I’d be fine using the blackmagic software, but those captured files aren’t encoded correctly. They look poor quality, After Effects doesn’t display them properly (yes even after toggling aspect ratio button and interpreting footage to dvc pro hd) and they crash AE on export.

Thanks guys for all your help much appreciated!

I am having almost the same exact problem. I just got an Intensity Pro, Installed the latest software and drivers. When I try to capture in final cut using the blackmagic dv presets. I get video perfectly, but no audio is capturing or even metered. I am capture vhs tapes from a pro vcr deck.

I get audio when ever I use Media Express, but the video looks janky through it, so I rather use FCP.

Has anybody figured out a solution? Ive sent a email to blackmagic, lets see if they respond.

Same problem here. working in a new project, all blackmagic easy setup, just for vhs capture. can see video but no audio. i get audio in the blackmagic capture program, but I work in FCP. Several calls to black magic but all they came up with is to trash FCP preferences, repair permissions etc., which hasn’t worked.

I too have the same issue – perhaps using a 2 phono – 3.5 phono go into the mac pro input for audio and capture audio using system sound?

    I’m going to have a go now…
