    Hi all,
I’m working in Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0 and have just loaded it on my new computer which is running Windows 7. The software works well, but when it comes to exporting the job to a DVD, Premiere Pro does not recognise the internal DVD burner in the machine. The status is “No DVD burners detected”. I know it works, as when I load a blank disk you get the usual “pop-up” command in Windows. I’ve also conected an external DVD burner and still have the same problem…! I’ve pressed the “Rescan” button next to the “burner location” box, but noting happens. Also tried selecting the drive through the “folder” facility, but this doesn’t work either… I hope someone can help and many thanks in advance… Bruce

It could be that the burner is too old, or being used by another application.

Do you have anything else on the computer besides the Adobe suite that can access the DVD drive for burning. You could also look at the manufacturer site to see if they have a firmware update.

What version of windows 7 are you using?

    Hi Vince,
Thanks for the reply. The computer is brand new (Quad core, etc.) along with the burner. I’ve burnt files direct to it, so I know it works. I’ll have a look at the Adobe website to see if there are any updates. Cheers, Bruce

    Hi Brian,
I’m running Windows 7 Home Premium. Are you having any problems exporting to DVD in Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0, or can you burn without a problem? Cheers, Bruce

[Bruce Rutland] “I’m running Windows 7 Home Premium”

The problems you are having may be due to the fact that Ppro 2 is old software compared to your OS, goto the Premiere Pro folder in the x86 program files, and find the Premiere Pro 2 exe file and right click on it and select the “Troubleshoot Compatibility” and try it.
I don’t have any problem running Ppro 2 with DVD burners but I’m running it on win xp.
