no device control or timecode from vtr but image and sound
Hello,
I just upgraded to windows 7 so this may have something to do with it; but my issue is as follows:
I plugged my VTR (sony hvr-m25u) into the 1394 port on my pc and I heard the connection sound. I was even prompted to capture in premiere. So I opened up premiere as usual, created my normal timeline, and pressed F5 to open my capture window.
It took a few moments to load the capture window which is odd. Once it loaded I immediately noticed that I had no device control, and there was no timecode being displayed. Once I pressed play on my VTR I actually got audio and video both in my capture window. But there is no timecode being displayed from the tape, and there is still no device control.
This makes it pretty much impossible for me to do any kind of batch capture. Can anyone help me out with how to get my device control and timecode back in my capture window?Thanks,

Are you sure the device control is turned on to DV/HDV? if it is set to none then you can’t control the desk via the capture interface bit if u press playback on the VTR vision and sound will come through without timecode as it’s not connected via device control.

Thanks for your response. I do have the device control set to DV/HDV. My additional options are set to:
Video Standard: NTSC
Device Brand: Generic
Device Type: Standard
Timecode Format: Auto DetectCheck Status says “Detected.”
Also, half the time when I try to open the capture window Premiere hangs up and I have to end the program.
Any other ideas?
