Thanks. In general, the MXF files all seems to be fine. Clips are audible in the timeline, just not in the browser, when left as mono. I think it’s an issue between the Mac or the OS and the BMD box. I can set the sound prefs output to any other option that doesn’t involve the BMD UltraStudio (internal speakers, USB output, Apple display audio) and they all work with the mono audio from these clips. So that really points to the unit, drivers, or output over Thunderbolt, but only with FCPX. Oh well.

April 6, 2017 at 12:05 pmI work with C300 Mk2 files all the time and no audio issues with either of my systems . I do have a BMD ultra studio which is not connected to either system at the moment . I could plug it in and see if the problem occurs….

April 6, 2017 at 12:51 pmFWIW I’m having the same issue, with an old BM Decklink card. I thought it could be some kind of incompatibility with the hackintosh it’s currently in, but maybe it’s a Sierra thing.
My current workaround is to use two set of speakers, a cheaper set hooked on the line out for the early stage of an edit and the better one on the decklink for the final stage. Not ideal, but it’s pretty easy to switch between the two.—
