  • No Audio when Exporting my Movie

I am in the process of compiling 9 short Training DVD movies for an NGO in South Africa using FCP X. I’ve completed the first three, and am in various stages of completion of the balance. I tried to export the first one (just over 2 mins long) to a QuickTime movie to show the stakeholders – and there is no audio on the resulting movie.

I’ve tried it again twice with small adjustments to the settings – but still no audio.

I have various audio clips within the project of voiceover, live sound and music throughout.

    Is there something I’m missing?

I do also have Compressor – but when I try and export using Compressor settings I receive a progress bar informing me it will take 96 hours to export this 2 minute movie.

    I’m stumped

In the export dialogue, do you have the Export pulldown set to “Video and Audio”?

If you use some of the delivered Compressor settings, make sure the audio is checked on the Inspector.

As for going direct to Compressor, I get the same inane time to completion, so I just Cmd+E and render overnight.
