I can’t get the audio to playback at all when editing. The audio monitor is showing there is audio, and when I export the audio appears, but that’s no use when trying to edit. I have no idea what’s wrong, and I’m desperate, as I’m trying to edit a friend’s wedding!

First off, what are your system specs (OS, Avid version, graphics card, RAM, etc.)? What type of footage are you trying to edit? These are pretty basic questions, but it helps to diagnose your problem.

Have you ever had audio playing through the speakers when editing in the Avid? What version of Quicktime do you have? Do you have any outboard audio gear plugged into the Avid (an MBox, for example)?
