Activity Forums VEGAS Pro No audio level in added track

  • No audio level in added track

I am trying to balance EQ/volume levels from two different cameras. When I added an audio track for camera two audio, I see a level on the meters, but I can’t hear audio. The track isn’t muted, and I have left-clicked on the track to make it “active”. How can I make the track “active” so I can hear the audio? I am running Vegas Pro 9 robust 64-bit computer. (Never ran into this in Vegas 7 or 8).

    Thanks,

    Don

You do see a waveform for the quiet audio track right? Try putting the quiet video and audio events on the same tracks for the one you do hear, just place it after, and see if you hear it. You may have the quiet audio track set to a different output or buss than the working one. Let us know,, Danny Hays

    Danny,

The audio track works well when it is on the same audio track as the other camera’s audio. When I select “Insert new audio track” and move it down, I can’t hear anything, even though I move the horizontal volume slider(in the audio controls at left). Things that make you go “hmmm”…

    Thank you,

    Don

Don, please post a screen shot of the audio track header area and make it bigger than normal so that we can attempt to help you figure this out.

You can also click on the header of the working audio track, right click and duplicate track. Delete the events in the new track and drag the not working events on to the new audio track.

Mike–I feel like a moron. This is my first project after transitioning to Vegas 9 and I overlooked the fact that the solo “button” was in the incorrect position and muting the audio. Boy, it sounded sweet when it came alive.

    Thanks you,

    Don

Don’t feel bad Don as we all make mistakes.
I’m glad that you got this one figured out and are back happily editing once again.
