No Audio in Left Channel

You select and copy the audio.

Then you Option Click on the Toggle Auto Select button on the track you want to Paste in to. It’s the little square just to the left of the audio tracks.

Even Easier…Select the clip.
Option & Shift the clip and then just drag it down to your track while holding the two keys down. It will stay in sync with the clip above it.
Really fast and easy.

“Better levels” may not be the best term, here.
“Increased levels” might be more precise.
(I’m sure that you meant “better” to mean “increased” in this case.)

You DO get about a 3 to 6 dB increased level by cloning the clip on both channels, but that’s not always what you want to do.

Also, if increased levels and a mono center is what you DO want, you can get the same effect by panning a single channel clip to center and increasing the level on that clip by approx. 3 to 6 dB.
