  • No audio from timeline, Audio playback only in audio Editor

Posted by Herb Sevush on August 31, 2005 at 8:52 pm

I’ve been using Motion quite happily for a while now, but without audio. I now need to hear audio in reference to a composite I am building. I’ve imported a simple .aif reference track and it plays back fine in the audio editor – but video does not play back. If i go to the timeline I can see the audio track with it’s waveform, but no audio playback. What setting have I screwed up.

    Thanks

Check your preferences to make sure audio playback is enabled.

    Noah –

Thanks for the suggestions, but I can’t find anything in the preference menu that would enable or disable audio playback. There are some options for looping audio when scrubbing and for what to do in case sync is lost, but nothing to disable audio. I’ve tried all the variations on these and they have no effect on the problem. Also, as I said, the audio plays fine in the audio editor tab. Any other suggestions?

Got it – I needed to click on the speaker icon in the audio tab while the audio track was selected.
