No Audio Export from Timeline (Browser) Edit
Because my project is 1920×1440 I did the edit in a browser timeline and not in a project. Worked well so far. 23 minute project. Export to video. Fine video. No audio. Can’t even iso export just the audio. Tried. Copying the edits and pasting in a Project to export audio results in audio that doesn’t match the video in time. Know of a workaround to get the timeline to export audio? I mean, man, if it’ll export the video just fine, what’s the problem with audio?

No one is offering to enlighten.
I read/viewed two tutorials about editing in a timeline in the browser vs. editing in a Project and how you can get any frame size you want. One tutorial by Alex of Alex4D fame and the other by T. Payton of Albuquerque. Both included verbiage that implied you can edit anything in that Browser timeline (right-click on a clip in the Browser and Open in Timeline) but NEITHER alerted the reader/viewer that while you can put sound IN you can’t get it OUT. As a result, I did a complicated 23-minute project at 1920×1440 to mimic the look of a PowerPoint presentation that included embedded video with sound and promised the client that the final frame size would be the same. Now I’m forced to deliver it in 16×9 with pillars instead of 4×3 high-res clean.
I already tried putting the silent 4×3 version into FCP7 and added an audio-only output from putting the project into a 16×9 project, but of course they don’t sync. You can stretch the video in FCP7 but not the audio but that wouldn’t look good.
There is a way, I’m sure, to eventually match the two and deliver what I promised but it’s been hours of wasted time.

Found the problem with help from T. Payton of Albuquerque.
The problem was that I started the custom resolution in the Browser using a still picture. Because the timeline sets itself on the first element, there was no framerate set. Sure, the size was right, but no sound would export from that timeline.
Using T. Payton’s example (in a tutorial found here on CreativeCow.net) I created a Motion Project of the size and framerate I needed and used that as my first element. From there I pasted in more than 23 minutes of material already edited in my original Browser timeline. I then eliminated the first clip that had set the size and the framerate.
The project exported just fine. Right size and with sound.
You may be asking why I didn’t start with a video clip from the edit. That was not possible because I was re-creating a PowerPoint presentation and all I had was the slides (which determined the size of the project) and I embedded standard 16×9 video within the slides sized down.
