No audio being captured!
Hi,
I just installed Sony Vegas 6 a few days ago. I own a Panasonic PV-GS250 camcorder. I connect my camcoorder to my PC using USB and use the “capture video” option. Everything was working fine yesterday. But today, for some reason, no audio is being recorder from my camcorder! Instead, theres this steadily increasing throbbing sound! Someone please help! I’d really appreciate it! -

Do not use a USB connection. Hook up your camera to the computer via Firewire (IEEE-1394).

yes as Gary says use 1394 !!!
i have a friend and he had the same problem .. the strange thing was that when he captured using Vegas capture app – after capture he could play back the clip with sound from within the V capture utility but the clip had no audio if he dropped it in V time line .. go back to V capture app and the audio plays ?? so the audio is with the clip but other applications can not see it ???

Vegas will not capture through the USB port from your Panasonic. You should use, as the others say, Firewire to capture. If you do not have a firewire cable/port, you can use Windows Movie Maker (if you have Windows XP) to capture the tape, and edit in Vegas. I have the Pana GS400, my Firewire port is fried, and I capture like this. I will have Panasonic fix my Firewire port though, since it is preferrable for me to capture using Vegas, it can do scene detection etc.
